Београд је главни град Републике Србије и налази се на ушћу Саве у Дунав. Један је од најстаријих градова у Европи. Прва насеља на територији Београда датирају из праисторијске Винче. Град Сингидунум оснивају Келти у 3. веку п.н.е. Касније је у саставу римске империје, као и Таурунум, садашњи Земун. Градска права стиче у време цара Хадријанa у II веку н.е. Под словенским именом Београд (Бели град) се први пут појављује 878. године. Много пута је освајан, рушен и обнављан. Српски краљ Драгутин  1284. године добија од угарске круне Београд, који тада први пут долази под српску власт. Султан Сулејман Величанствени осваја Београд 1521. године, а после одласка Турака из Београда 1867. године, он постаје престоница Србије. Почетком Првог светског рата га бомбардују Аустријанци, почетком Дргугог светског рата га бомбардују  Немци, а крајем  Другог светског рата  Американци и остали савезници. Опет је бомбардован 1999. године од стране НАТО пакта. И даље је најлепши – наш Београд. 

Belgrade is the capital of the Republic of Serbia which lies at the confluence of the Sava and the Danube rivers. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The first settlements on the territory of Belgrade date back to prehistoric Vinca. The city of Singidunum was founded by the Celts in the 3rd century BC. Later, it was part of the Roman Empire, as was Taurunum, present day Zemun. Belgrade was granted civic rights during the reign of Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD. The Slavic name of the city, Beograd (White City), was recorded for the first time in 878. The city has been conquered, destroyed and rebuilt many times. Serbian king Dragutin received Belgrade from the Hungarian crown in 1284, when it first came under Serbian rule. Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent conquered Belgrade in 1521, and upon the departure of the Turks in 1867, Belgrade became the capital of Serbia. At the beginning of World War I it was bombed by the Austrians, at the beginning of World War II by the Germans, and at the end of the World War II by the Americans and other allies. It was bombed again in 1999 by NATO.  It is still the most beautiful city – our Belgrade.
